I chose this stock because 3M has always been a well-managed blue chip company that pays out regular dividends. It looks to be at a 5 year market low and this seems to be a good time to acquire stocks that I could later sell if and when the spike occurs once more. If I have to wait, I can simply collect dividends until it is appropriate to sell.
